What is an Easy Way to Study in Lpn to Rn Fast Track Program

Skill building

You already have practical, hands-on experience as an LPN. We'll help you reinforce the skills you already have while also building new ones.

LPN to RN: Advanced Placement

LPNs can earn their RN license faster with this bridge program.

Apply now

Labouré's LPN to RN program allows you to quickly take your nursing licensure to the next level. As an LPN, you can get credit by examination for some professional coursework, meaning you'll take fewer classes at Labouré and finish your associate degree faster.

As an LPN-RN student, you:

  • Take arts and sciences courses in person or online
  • Take the HESI exam to get credit for Fundamentals and Maternity/Pediatrics courses
  • Practice modern nursing techniques in our state-of-the-art simulation technology lab
  • Apply what you learn by caring for patients at hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Greater Boston
  • Are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to earn your RN license and practice as a registered nurse

Advanced placement equals accelerated pace

Our LPN-RN is the advanced placement track of our ASN program. Advanced placement status means you can finish your degree in about one year at a full-time pace.

Many of our students are balancing work, family commitments and school and choose to attend part-time. Our academic advisors will help you find the plan that works best for you.

"I had a nursing instructor that was in school doing a master's and she would come from clinical and go to school just like us, so she understood the pressure that we were under. That's invaluable."

Learn more about Labouré's program:

Labouré's program is different than an associate program in a community college because:

  • Our program includes a built-in pathway to a bachelor-level degree (BSN). The importance of a bachelor-level education in the nursing field can not be overstated. Labouré's 2-program format allows for an easy transition into the bachelor program once you have completed your associate degree, passed your NCLEX-RN exam, and are working as a nurse.
  • Labouré has specialized in Nursing education for over 125 years. Healthcare education is our expertise and only focus.
  • In the Associate in Science degree program, all professional nursing courses are completed on-campus in Milton, or on-site at clinical locations in the Boston, North Shore, or South Shore areas. Most general education courses are offered in a variety of formats, including on-campus, hybrid, or online.
  • In the RN-BSN program, the courses are 100% online.

The purpose of the Labouré College of Healthcare Associate Degree Nursing Program is to develop competent entry level registered nurses to function as caring, competent, and compassionate practitioners across a variety of care settings and to establish a foundation for lifelong learning. The end of program student learning outcomes are derived from the mission, philosophy, curriculum framework, and organizing concepts and structure of the nursing program, inclusive of the Massachusetts Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies.
